Opteka HD² 72mm R72 720nm Infrared X-Ray IR Filter Review Having looked at articles and opinions about using infra red filters on a DSLR camera, I was put off from buying one. It seemed that it was highly recommended to only use them on a modified camera that had the internal infra red filter removed by a technician. I see no reason why the filter would not also work on the kit lens that comes with the camera. On top of this, prices quoted for infra red filters were beyond the range of my wallet. I highly recommend this filter for the enthusiast who wants to create artistic photos that almost appear like black and white negatives. This is not only very expensive but leaves the camera suitable only for taking infra red photos. And, of course, one should remember to set their camera on Black...

Opteka HD² 77mm R72 720nm Infrared X-Ray IR Filter Overview Unlike other reviews, with this filter, I have taken great pictures, and they look like others posted on the internet (you can look at the 3rd place winner picture of the Natural National Land Marks as an example). In addition, to get the best of the filter, I have modified my Canon 300D, so I can take IR pictures without tripod and very short exposures. In order to get the right colors you need to take the picture at the right exposure and also at the right time of the day (morning of evening). I have taken pictures of animlas (buffalos, cats, moose and birds.
