Camera Support | Re: Really Right Stuff gear for video use

That being said, I don't have a budget for a huge video set up, so I've adapted a lot of my Really Right Stuff photo gear for video use. I've got a BH-55 with their 33 carbon fiber legs, and I wouldn't use anything else for my photo set up (The legs also work nicely on my Bogen 503 head). The video aspect is really cool and has come in handy for me and my business as we're putting together some online video training programs. This adapts the B2 LR II to cinema industry standard height and spacing for use in video, so now you're making both set ups completely For anyone not familiar with RRS, they are the Zacuto of the photo world. I also love RRS for all of my photography needs. So, on to some pictures. I own a 5DMK2 and a 7D to take pictures with. com/Catalog/DSLRClamps/reallyrightstuff....

Camera Support | Re: Legs for Sachtler FSB-6

I ponied up for a fsb-6 with the 75/2 D 2-stage aluminum tripod legs that came with the package. So I finally sacked up and got a real tripod, after my buddy tried some libec options and using manfrotto options myself I knew it was time for something better. With the fsb-6 movements are fantastic, but I still get bounce back, not from the head but from the legs, I can watch them torque slightly on the pan even at level 1 dampening. I have a k-pod coming from kessler so I can use that for a solid option, but at 22 lbs I'd love to get something lighter but more stable then the legs that came with. so I'm thinking I need to upgrade these legs, that being said I am contemplating returning the whole thing for a fsb-8 instead, for the increased weight capacity. I have both the FSB 6 and the Cine If so am I better off with the carbon legs....

Is this a good first serious lens?

I'm off to Kenya soon and am using it as an excuse to treat myself to a landscape lens.
I already have 7D, Manfrotto legs and head, remote shutter, 18-55 3.5, 50mm 1.8, and 100-300mm 4.5 lenses. This will be my first real piece of kit.

If I was going wide angle, I'd go for the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. Reputed to be the sharpest wide angle - outperforming even Canon & Nikon branded glass.

Turrning a tripod into a steadicam?

Recently, I saw a video tutorial on how to turn a tripod into a steadicam by simply removing the screws from one leg of the tripod and flipping the tripod head 90 degrees.

Chrispy
It could become a DIY steadicam if you follow the directions and do it right.

For me personally I use a Fig Rig for my filming. Since Fig Rig's are expensive. I did a DIY Fig Rig.
